HGSS Student wins The Education Art Prize 2019
We are VERY proud to announce that Zainab Iqbal who left last year, has been named as the prestigious winner of "THE EDUCATION ART PRIZE 2019" funded by the national publication "Specialist Crafts" which all schools and colleges have access to. Zainab was one of 13 Art students last summer who gained an A*, she actually achieved two A*s, completing one of them in a year, instead of two!
HGSS also won the opportunity for a very prestigious artist to come in for the day to work with 20 students, with all materials provided, plus money for the school.
Zainab's work will be curated at The Knapp Gallery in London. The work will feature on The Education Art Prize website.
Thanks go to Molly Aldred in Year 12, who received the award on behalf of Zainab, as she was in an exam at university during the award ceremony.
Molly had the opportunity with our Art Technician Mrs Tebbs to attend a whole day in London, working with an artist, before the official prize giving.
Zainab joins other sixth form artists this term who are now national winners.
