Free School Meals
Please download and return the PDF attachment below if you wish to claim Free School Meals. It is imperative that all eligible students do claim, both for your child’s benefit but also as the level of these claims affect the school’s funding. We are now able to check for eligibility through our Local Authority using a national database which means we no longer need to see evidence with your claim and only need to ask for minimal information. As a reminder, under current regulations, only children whose parents/guardians are in receipt of any of the following will be entitled to Free School Meals:
- INCOME SUPPORT (IS)
- INCOME BASED JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE (IBJSA)
- AN INCOME-RELATED EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE
- CHILD TAX CREDIT – except if you meet ANY of the following criteria:
1. entitled to working tax credit (regardless of income)
2. have an annual income in excess of £16,190 - SUPPORT UNDER PART VI OF THE IMMIGRATION AND ASYLUM ACT 1999
- GUARANTEE ELEMENT OF STATE PENSION CREDIT (GE)
If you feel you are eligible to claim Free School Meals, please could you complete the tear-off slip and return to the School with your other forms. We will confirm the eligibility of your claim once confirmation is received from the database. For your information, the current FSM allowance for lunches is £2.25 and all information will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
